Police claim to have tracked down the case of cyber extortion in which Mr Sanjay Kapur (husband of Mrs Karishma Kapoor) was asked to pay up Rs 50 crores. The email that originated from a Mumbai Cyber Cafe was sent from a rediff account on 26 August, which belonged to some Raj Kumar.

Raj Kumar has been arrested from Mulund in Mumbai and sent to seven-day police custody for further interrogation. He was a habitual criminal and has been arrested several times in various cases of extortion and impersonation.

Police are now investigating his links with Ravi Pujari, a gangster from Mumbai. As email contained  instructions to call on Ravi Bhai Pujari on telephone, who has been part of the Chotta Rajan gang before starting his own gang.
