Finally, the IT Act Amendments were passed Union Cabinet in mid October, it will be tabled for Parliament's approval during the upcoming winter session. The amendments are aimed at preventing computer misuse like video voyeurism, identity theft, e-commerce frauds like phishing, frauds on on-line auction sites, sending offensive e-mail and multimedia offences. The amendments are expected to secure the legislative framework for security practices, especially in the Indian IT BPO sector.
